1959 – 1969 GM Differential Case GM # 9776347

This early dealer takeoff differential case was manufactured by General Motors for use on the following models:

Oldsmobile 1964 All except F85, J88 or Anti-Spin. – with 3.42, 3.64, 3.90 ratio.

Pontiac 1959 – 1964 P/8 except Left Hand Drive. – with 39.10, 41.10, 40.11, 41.12, 43.10 ratio,

Pontiac 1965 – 1969 P/8 except Left Hand Drive. – with 37.9, 39.9, 39.10, 39.11, 41.11, 41.12, 42.13 ratio.

This case has had a ring gear bolted to it but we can find no wear at all on the differential side gears. Although we do not know the early history of this case we are guessing based on its condition that this case was removed from a new car to change the ratio at the new car purchaser’s request.
